Cursor and Google Business Profile

Post to Google Business Profile from Cursor

Ask Cursor to write and schedule Google Business Profile updates, offers and events through Postozo's MCP server. It reads the Google Business Profile rules first, so posts fit before they are saved.

How it works

  1. Cursor calls list_channels to find your Google Business Profile channel.
  2. It calls get_channel_rules to learn the Google Business Profile limit, media needs and settings.
  3. It writes the post and runs check_post, which returns any rule problems.
  4. It picks a time with find_free_slot if you did not give one, shows you the post, and calls schedule_post after you say yes.

Google Business Profile rules Cursor follows

  • Up to 1,500 characters and 1 photo. Videos are skipped.
  • Pick Update, Offer or Event. Offers and events need a title and a start date.
  • Buttons such as Book or Order online need a link that starts with https://. Call now does not.
  • No follow-up comments.

Rule summary from the Google Business Profile connector: Max 1500 characters. 1 photo (videos are skipped). Post type Update, Offer or Event. Offers and events need a title and start date. Buttons (except Call now) need a https link. No follow-up comments.

Google Business Profile settings the agent can use

These go in channels[].settings of schedule_post. Cursor learns them from get_channel_rules, so you can just describe what you want.

You never have to write this yourself. It shows what Cursor sends to schedule_post for Google Business Profile, with real setting keys:

Set up Cursor

Add Postozo to Cursor with a few lines of JSON. Then let Cursor's agent write launch posts from your code, docs and release notes, and schedule them. Connection: an API key header. Full steps are on the Cursor setup page. Your Google Business Profile account must be connected in Postozo first: see the Google Business Profile scheduler.

Also works with Claude and ChatGPT.

Tips for Google Business Profile posts written with Cursor

  • Tell Cursor who the post is for and what you want people to do. "Write a Google Business Profile post for small shop owners that asks them to book a demo" works better than "write a post".
  • Start the chat with a few lines about your tone and the words to use or avoid. Cursor writes the text itself, so it needs this to sound like you.
  • Ask for 2 or 3 versions and pick 1. It is faster than asking for changes 5 times.
  • Say "save as drafts" when you want to check the posts on the calendar before they are scheduled.
  • Add 1 detail only you know, like a real number from your business or a customer question. It makes the post yours.
