How it works

Shorten social media links in 4 steps

Choose your rule

In Settings, pick whether Postozo asks you, always shortens links or never does. The rule is per workspace.

Write the post as usual

Paste the full link into the post. You do not need to shorten it yourself.

Save the post

When the post is saved, each link is swapped for a short link that points to the same page.

Count the clicks

Open the post after it goes live to see clicks per link. The total shows in the workspace summary.

Example: which channel sends visits?

A bookshop shares the same event page on Facebook, X and Telegram. Each post gets its own short link. After the weekend, the shop opens each post and sees which channel brought the most clicks, without setting up a separate link tool or tracking codes. Next month it puts more effort into the channel that sent people to the event page, not just the one with the most likes.

Tips to get more from it

Use "ask" as the workspace rule if some clients do not want short links, and "always" if every link should be counted.
Compare clicks per channel for the same link to see where your audience acts, not just where it likes.
Keep the full link in your own notes or in the post history, so you always know where a short link points.
Do not shorten links on networks where the full address builds trust, like a link to your own well known domain, if clicks do not matter for that post.

Questions

Do short links expire?

No. They keep working as long as your account exists.

Do short links help on X?

X counts every link as 23 characters whatever its length, so on X a short link is about counting clicks, not saving space.

Can I turn it off?

Yes. Set the workspace rule to never shorten.

What does a short link look like?

The app address followed by /l/ and a short code. It sends people straight to your page with a normal redirect.

Will my own website analytics still see the visit?

Yes. The visitor lands on your page as usual, so tools like your website analytics still count the visit and its source.

What is a URL shortener?

A service that turns a long web address into a short one that sends people to the same page. It can also count how many people clicked.
