How Kick counts characters

Kick chat messages can be up to 500 characters. Postozo counts what you see as 1 character (graphemes), so an emoji made of several parts counts once.

Among the 23 networks with a counter here, Kick has the 4th shortest of 14 different limits. Threads, Pinterest, Mastodon and Twitch have the same limit of 500. Shorter is not worse: it only changes how you write. Short limits reward 1 clear idea per post.

This counter counts graphemes, the same way.

Rules Postozo checks for Kick

Sends a message to your own Kick chat. Only people watching the chat at that moment see it, so schedule it while you are live. Text only, max 500 characters. No photos, no follow-up comments.

How to use this Kick counter

1. Write or paste your Kick chat message in the box above.
2. Watch the "left" number. It turns amber when less than 10% is left and red when the text is too long.
3. Count links and hashtags as part of the text: Kick counts them too.
4. Too long? Cut it down. Kick posts in Postozo have no follow-up comments, so everything has to fit in 1 post.

Connecting Kick to Postozo

You connect Kick by signing in with Kick and allowing access. Postozo never sees your password.

Kick does not share statistics with Postozo, so you see the publish status and the live link (your channel page) for each post.

Tips for Kick posts

• Schedule messages for while you are live. Nobody sees them otherwise.
• Text only. No photos or videos.
• Use it for timed reminders, links and codes during a stream.
• Keep it short so it can be read before chat moves on.

Before you post on Kick

• Read the post on a phone screen. Most people will see it there, and long lines look longer on a small screen.
• Open every link once to check it works and goes to the right page.
• Keep the full, longer version of your text. You may want it for a network with more room than Kick.

Write once, fit every network
