PostozoHow to connect YouTube to Postozo
Sign in with Google, pick your YouTube channels and start scheduling. This guide shows each screen in Postozo, what YouTube asks for, and how to fix common errors.
What you need before you start
- A Google account with a YouTube channel. A Google account without a channel cannot be connected.
- If the channel belongs to a Brand Account, you need to be an owner or manager of that Brand Account.
YouTube uses a sign-in button (called OAuth). You never share your Google password with Postozo.
Connect YouTube step by step
Step 1. Open Add Channel
Sign in to Postozo. On the Calendar, press Add Channel at the top of the channel list. A window opens with a tile for every network. Find the YouTube tile and press it. Each tile also has a How to connect link that opens this guide.
If the tile says Coming soon on this server, the server you use has not added its YouTube app keys yet. Ask the person who runs your Postozo server. On postozo.com this is done for you.
Step 2. Sign in on Google
Postozo sends you to Google to sign in. This screen belongs to Google, so we cannot show it here. What you will see:
- Google opens and asks which account to use. If your channel is on a Brand Account, pick the Brand Account here.
- Google lists the permissions (manage your videos, view your account, see analytics). Leave every box ticked and press Continue.
Postozo checks that these permissions were given, because posting fails without them:
- Manage your YouTube videos (upload)
- View your YouTube account
You never type your Google password into Postozo. Google sends you back with a sign-in that Postozo stores encrypted.
Step 3. Pick your YouTube channels
Postozo shows the channel for the account you picked on the Google screen. Tick it and press Add channel. To add another channel on a different Brand Account, connect again and pick that account.
YouTube channels that are already connected show a green Connected label and cannot be ticked again. If your plan has a channel limit, the list shows how many you can still add, and stops you from ticking more. Press Add when you are done. Press Cancel to stop without adding anything.
Step 4. Check the new channel
Back on the Calendar, the new channel shows in the channel list on the left, with a small YouTube badge on its picture. A message at the bottom says it is connected. You can now pick it in the post editor.
Step 5. Set your preferences
Press the 3 dots next to the channel to open its menu. From here you can set Preferences (default settings for every new post on this channel, like Video title, Who can watch, Made for kids), edit time slots, move the channel to a customer, reconnect, turn it off or delete it.
Common errors and how to fix them

| "This Google account has no YouTube channel" | Create a channel on YouTube, or press Try again and pick the Brand Account that owns the channel. |
| A missing permission | Google lets you untick permissions. Press Try again and leave every box ticked. |
| "You cancelled the sign-in, or did not allow access" | You pressed Cancel or closed the YouTube screen. Press Try again and choose Allow. |
| "YouTube did not give Postozo every permission it needs" | A permission was turned off on the YouTube screen. The message names it. Press Try again and leave everything turned on. |
| "This sign-in link has expired" | Sign-in links last 1 hour. Start again from Add Channel. |
| "Your plan allows N channels" | You reached the channel limit of your plan. Remove a channel you do not use, or upgrade in Billing. |
How to reconnect
A sign-in can stop working, for example when you change your YouTube password, remove the app on YouTube, or lose access to a YouTube channel. Postozo then marks the channel with a warning, pauses its posts, and tells you by notification and email.
- Press the 3 dots next to the channel.
- Press Reconnect channel.
- Sign in on YouTube again with the same account.
- Postozo finds the same YouTube channel again on its own. You do not need to pick it again.
Reconnect keeps the channel, its posts, time slots and preferences. If you sign in with a different account, Postozo stops and tells you, so posts never go to the wrong account. If the YouTube channel is no longer on that account, you see a message that says so, with a Try again button.
How to disconnect YouTube
Press the 3 dots next to the channel, then Delete. Postozo removes the channel and deletes its stored sign-in right away. Upcoming and draft posts for that channel are removed too. Posts that are already live stay on YouTube. You need the admin or owner role in your workspace to delete a channel.
To also remove Postozo from your YouTube account, open the connected apps settings on YouTube and remove it there. See YouTube help: create a channel.
Want to pause instead? Choose Disable Channel in the same menu. Its posts wait until you turn it back on.
What you can post on YouTube
Exactly 1 video. Needs a title (2 to 100 characters) in settings. The post text becomes the description (max 5000). Follow-up comments are posted as comments.

Can I schedule YouTube Shorts?
You upload a video with a title and settings. YouTube decides if a short vertical video is shown as a Short.
Can I connect several channels?
Yes. Connect once per Google account or Brand Account. Each channel becomes its own channel in Postozo.
Does connecting YouTube cost extra?
No. There is no extra charge per network. Each connected YouTube channel counts as 1 channel toward the channel limit of your plan.
What if the YouTube tile says Coming soon on this server?
The server you use has no YouTube app keys yet. The server admin adds them in Admin, Networks.
