How VK counts characters

Postozo allows up to 15,000 characters for a VK wall post.

Among the 23 networks with a counter here, VK has the 12th shortest of 14 different limits. Shorter is not worse: it only changes how you write. A long limit means the first lines matter most, because that is what people see before they open the post.

This counter counts each character (Unicode code point), the same way Postozo checks it before saving.

Posts on your VK wall, or on a community wall when a Community ID is set. Text plus up to 10 photos. No video yet. Follow-up comments are posted as comments.

• Community ID: Optional. Leave empty to post on your own wall. To post as a community you admin, enter its number (from the community address or its settings).

How to use this VK counter

1. Write or paste your VK wall post in the box above.
2. Watch the "left" number. It turns amber when less than 10% is left and red when the text is too long.
3. Count links and hashtags as part of the text: VK counts them too.
4. Too long? Move the rest to a follow-up. Postozo posts follow-ups right after the main post.

Connecting VK to Postozo

You connect VK by signing in with VK and allowing access. Postozo never sees your password.

Tips for VK posts

• Leave Community ID empty to post on your own wall, or enter it to post on a community you manage.
• Up to 10 photos per post. Video is not supported yet.
• Follow-up comments are posted as comments on the post.
• If VK asks for a captcha, post once by hand on vk.com, wait a few minutes, then retry.

Before you post on VK

• Read the post on a phone screen. Most people will see it there, and long lines look longer on a small screen.
• Open every link once to check it works and goes to the right page.
• Keep the full, longer version of your text. You may want it for a network with more room than VK.

Write once, fit every network
